As we are currently striving to build up stakes of Zion unto the Lord. It’s important for us to “Find our Why” in preparing. This will help us feel guided by the Lord in our efforts, as well as enjoy this time that we’ve been given by the Lord to prepare.

In a talk given by President Nelson called “Embrace the Future with Faith” it asks us to learn about Captain Moroni and how he helped to prepare his people and build up their community. He shares 3 principles he encourages all of us to follow. First, to create places of security in our lives. Second, to prepare our minds to be faithful unto the Lord. And Third, to not stop preparing physically or spiritually.

Around this same time this talk was given, I started to look at my own temporal preparedness through a spiritual lens, and was able to “Find My Why.” Preparing temporally for me and my family has become a faith building experience line upon line, and I’m grateful for that perspective that the Lord has given me.

So I encourage you to try and “Find Your Why” with temporal and spiritual preparedness as you embrace for the future. As you take the time to ask the Lord through sincere prayer what are some specific things that you can do to be more prepared, he will give you specific action items that you can do to help grow in faith.

One thing that the stake is encouraging us to do is to focus on building our relationships with our neighbors and community. Having a community around us and getting to know and trust our neighbors is so important for the future.
